Chirpy Group in the Community

Our mission is to solve loneliness for over 50's with our friendship community

Each week an average of 150+ Chirpy catch-ups take place throughout Australia. These are made possibly by our sister company, Chirpy Plus, which has developed an online friendship network for over 50's who meet regularly in-person.

A Growing Community of Chirpies

Chirpy Plus was established in 2018 and has grown rapidly to over 4,000 active members who enjoy benefits including:

  • Face-to-face meet-ups
  • Group travel opportunities
  • Discounted domestic and international travel bookings
  • Introductions for singles via Chirpy Romance

Committed to Solving One of the Nation’s Biggest Problems

Loneliness in over 50's has become a national crisis. According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, social isolation and loneliness can harm both mental and physical health and may affect life satisfaction.

Australian Institute of Health and Welfare

“Loneliness has been linked to premature death, poor physical and mental health (Holt-Lunstad et al. 2015), greater psychological distress (Manera et al. 2022) and general dissatisfaction with life (Schumaker et al. 1993). Loneliness among Australians was already a concerning issue before the COVID-19 pandemic, to the extent that in 2022 it has been described as one of the most pressing public health priorities in Australia (Ending Loneliness Together 2022)”
